Project Background

The SWXGN1-40.5 Series Gas-Insulated Metal-Enclosed Switchgear (C-GIS) is a high-tech product independently developed and produced by our company. It draws on advanced technologies from home and abroad and complies with Chinese national standards.

Inside the equipment, low-pressure SF6 gas is used as the insulating medium, and primary components such as bus connectors, integrated three-position disconnectors (with closing, isolating, and grounding functions), circuit breakers, inner cone insulators, and connecting conductors are sealed in gas tanks welded with stainless steel plates.

This fully isolates the components from the external environment, enabling reliable operation in harsh conditions such as basements, plateaus, frozen soil areas, and coastal regions (characterized by high altitude, humidity, and salt spray).

It meets the requirements of special scenarios including new energy projects, plateau projects, subway systems, and urban power distribution projects with limited land. With its advantages of high reliability, maintenance-free operation, strong adaptability, and small footprint, the equipment is widely used in fields such as power, industry, national defense, and urban rail transit.

Customer Pain Points

Traditional switchgear is bulky and occupies a large floor area, making it difficult to deploy in projects with limited space.

Air-insulated switches are susceptible to environmental factors (e.g., humidity, dust), which reduces equipment reliability.

On-site installation is complex and requires gas-related operations, increasing construction difficulty and risks.

Insufficient intelligence: Lack of remote monitoring and automated management functions leads to low operation and maintenance efficiency.

Solution Proposition

Fully sealed gas tank design: Non-magnetic stainless steel welded gas chambers are adopted to avoid electromagnetic eddy currents. SF6 gas is filled into the chambers to ensure reliable insulation and immunity to environmental interference.

Modular structure: Plug-in insulated bus connections are used. No gas operations are needed for on-site cabinet paralleling, enabling convenient installation and flexible expansion.

Compact design: Compared with traditional air-insulated equipment, it saves 30%–70% of the floor area, making it suitable for space-constrained scenarios.

Intelligent control: Integrates a microprocessor-based protection system with protection, control, metering, monitoring, and communication functions, supporting unattended operation.

Multiple sealing technologies: Static seals use a large sealing surface design, while dynamic seals adopt magnetic fluid sealing. This ensures an extremely low gas leakage rate and long-term stable operation.

Customer Value

High reliability: The fully sealed structure combined with SF6 gas insulation resists environmental interference, reduces failure rates, and extends the equipment’s service life.

Space and cost savings: The compact design lowers civil engineering costs, making it particularly suitable for scenarios like commercial complexes and underground power distribution.

Convenient installation and maintenance: The modular design simplifies construction, reduces on-site gas operations, and minimizes installation risks.

Intelligent O&M: Remote monitoring and automated management reduce manual inspection workload and improve power grid management efficiency.

Comprehensive safety protection: Mechanical and electrical interlocking designs effectively prevent misoperations, ensuring the safety of personnel and equipment.
